Beipiaosaurus was a kind of herbivorous dinosaur with long wings. The skin imprints collected from mechanism specimens show that the limbs of Beipiao dragon are covered by wings with similar plumage, just like Chinese dragon and bird, but the wings of Beipiao dragon are long and perpendicular to the arms. Xu xingseveral people think that the plumage of Beipiao dragon means that this kind of reptile is between Chinese dragon birds and higher birds (ornithoptera).

Beipiao dragon is about 2.3 meters long and 0.88 meters high. Its total weight is estimated to be 85 kilograms. North ticket dragon's beak has no teeth, but has cheek teeth. The advanced sauropodiaceae has four toes, but the inner toe of Beipiaosaurus is small, indicating that this kind of sauropodiaceae may have evolved from the ancestors of three toed sauropodiaceae. Compared with other long knife dragons, Beipiaosaurus has a large brain and a jaw size more than half the size of the femoral head.

What is crucial is that unexpectedly, Beipiao dragon has the same fine linear skin compounds (initial wings) as Chinese dragon birds. Bird wings are a kind of skin compounds. Compared with other mammalian skin compounds, its structure is more complex. However, its origin has always been a mystery in the field of paleontology. It has been known that the fossil records show that the wings of birds exist from the beginning and show a relatively complex structure. Before the discovery of the Chinese Dragon Bird, we have never found the blood relatives of birds and found all kinds of skin compounds. The essence of Chinese Dragon Bird's fine linear skin compounds has aroused the doubts of some experts. These people think that such fine linear skin compounds are likely to mean a kind of skin tissue, not skin compounds. In other words, these thin linear skin compounds have nothing to do with bird wings and are not the initial wings. The unexpected state and scattered parts of the thin linear structure of Beipiao dragon show that the thin linear structure stored on the bodies of Chinese Dragon Bird and Beipiao dragon does mean a kind of skin compounds, so it is likely to be of the same origin with the wings of birds. Xu Xingshu clearly pointed out that not only theropods such as sinosaurus and Beipiaosaurus grew and developed such linear skin compounds, but many theropods including Tyrannosaurus Rex probably grew and developed with similar structures. Because there is no good storage standard, although other theropod dinosaurs also grew and developed such structures when they were alive, they have not been stored when they produce fossils. This kind of structure is widespread among theropod dinosaurs, which means the initial stage of evolution to bird wings. Unexpectedly, the discovery of Beipiaosaurus modified the traditional overall image of dinosaurs, indicating that many dinosaurs did not wear scales and armor, but grew a kind of initial wings all over their body. On the contrary, this kind of dinosaur is also physiologically different from the common cold reptiles. This kind of dinosaur is likely to have a high basic metabolic rate. Even if it does not meet the standard of common warm blooded animals, it has already been greatly improved.

Beipiaosaurus was also a theropod dinosaur, belonging to scythosaurus. It was found in Beipiao City in western Liaoning in 1996, so it is famous. It existed more than 120 million years ago, which is longer than other sickle dragons, and its evolution level is relatively initial.

Beipiao dragon has a total length of 2.3 meters, which is taller than a big adult, but it is much thicker. The brain of Beipiao dragon looks relatively large. Its jaw teeth are decorated with crowns. Its palm is longer than its legs. There are three toes on its feet. There are also sharp hooks on its toes and a long thin head and neck. Beipiaosaurus was not covered with scales like most dinosaurs. On the contrary, it was a kind of thin linear skin compounds like Chinese ornithosaurus, that is, a kind of feathers with initial shape. This is also one of its most prominent features.
